I miss Mam more and more as each moment passes. I miss her sassy demeanor, dancing in the living room, conversations we once shared and the, seemingly, endless supply of chocolate she always had on hand. Mam was an integral part of my life and someone I have always looked up to. Her influence on me and my family is everywhere I look. I feel so privileged to have had the time that I did with Mam making memories that will last a lifetime. Childhood vacations, late nights watching television, painting our nails, talking about my latest heartbreak, playing Rummy, wise advice (even when I thought I knew better), her as my personal volleyball fan and so much more is what made Mam a admirable great grandmother and an unconditional friend. To think that our time together has come to a close is difficult to accept but I know God welcomed her with open arms, bringing an end to her earthly pain. She lives on in our hearts and through our cherished memories. Her life, strength, and Christian influence was a gift from God so when I think of Mam, I can’t help but to smile and thank God for giving me the opportunity to be one of her great granddaughters.
