Obituary for Mary Ann Horner (Haught)

Mary Ann Horner, 61, of Reader, WV peacefully left this world on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her home while surrounded by her family.

Mary Ann was born at home in Wetzel County during a horrible snow storm on February 25, 1961, the news of her birth made the front page of the newspaper. She is the daughter of the late Phillip S. and Martha (Bucher) Haught.

She wore many hats in her life, a CNA, pharmacy technician, LPN, Daycare owner/worker, but her favorite hat was filled with her five granddaughters whom she loved very much. Mary Ann enjoyed working outside and weed eating. She taught Bible Class for over forty years and was a member of the Eight Mile Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Craig and Mark Haught and brother-in-law, Phillip Anderson.

Surviving is her husband, John R. Horner, Jr.; two children, Timothy (Heather) Jason Horner and Jessica (Zach) Nicole Pittman both of Reader, WV; five grandchildren, Annie May Pittman, Isabella Rose Pittman, Lillian Belle Pittman, Amelia Grace Horner and Autumn Faith Horner; four brothers, Phillip “Butch” Haught, Denny (Wilma) Haught, Randy Haught, Pat Haught; four sisters, Melinda Anderson, Becky Haught, Teresa (Michael) Bassett and Rosalie (John) Ueltschy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery near Hastings, WV.
