Obituary for Roland Lee "Ron" Pittman
Roland “Ron” Lee Pittman, of Reader, WV left this world on Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was born August 5, 1940, in Reader, WV.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Booth Pittman; father, John Pittman; stepmother, Beulah Thomas Pittman; son, Ronnie Pittman; grandson, Daniel Pittman; sister, Marlyn Pittman and brother, James Pittman.
Surviving are wife of forty-five years, JoAnn Pittman; son, Timothy (Nancy) Pittman of Germany; daughter, Jill Fowler (Gary Bell) of Springfield, TN; son, Zachary (Jessica) Pittman of Reader, WV; granddaughters, Amanda Criado, Samantha Carretti, Taylor Di Raddo, Sanja Bejic, Annie May Pittman, Isabella Pittman, Lillian Pittman; great grandchildren, Harmoni, Jonathan, McKenna, Mikayla and Avery; brothers, Mike and Dale Pittman and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was a retiree of Bayer, a colon cancer survivor, a volunteer at WV Children’s Cancer Camp at Camp Winaca, a former boy scout leader, a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Reader Church of Christ. Ron loved traveling spending time with his family, volunteering and helping wherever he could, fishing and camping. He passed away doing what he enjoyed in life, camping with his wife at Leith Run camping area.
Friends received noon until 5 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, where service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, with Rick Tincher officiating.
