Obituary for James Allen "Jim" Wade Sr.

James “Jim” Allen Wade, Sr., 69, of Jacksonburg, WV passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, May 28, 2022 while at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Jim was born April 19, 1953 near Cameron, WV son of the late Ephriam Logan and Sarah Katherine (Palmer) Wade.

He was retired from the City of New Martinsville water and waste water treatment facility, a graduate of Hundred High School, an active Fire Fighter and EMT of the Folsom VFD and EMS and Shirley VFD. He started his EMS career at Shortline Ambulance Squad, worked a short time with Doddridge EMS. Jim has been an active EMT and firefighter for over fifty-four years. At the time of his passing he was currently serving on the Board of Directors for both Folsom VFD/EMS and Shirley VFD. While working with the Folsom station proudly worked side-by-side with his grandson, Deven Glasscock. His current positions included being the Deputy Chief and President, of the Shirley VFD. Jim also volunteered at the Tyler County Speedway. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the great outdoors. Jim was a member of the Middlebourne Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Bert Wade and sister-in-law, Olive Wade.

Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Donna (Shreve) Wade; son, James “Jimmy” (Stacey) Wade of Lima; daughter, April (Daniel “DJ”) Glasscock of Folsom; daughter, Melanie (Cleat Bohannon) Wade of Georgia; grandchildren, Deven Glasscock, Brianna Wade, Thomas Heflin, Logan Wade, Autumn Glasscock, Tyler Wade and Mason Bohannon; brothers, Roger (Sandy) Wade, Charles Wade, Beryl (Mary) Wade, Ephriam (Cindy) Wade; sisters, Carrie Wade, Nellie Mitchell, Judy Wade, Bonnie Ackman, Marsha Myers and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Jim’s request there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be to either the Folsom Volunteer Fire Department or the Shirley Volunteer Fire Department.
