Obituary for Barbara Kaye Barker (Higgins)
Barbara Kaye Barker, 76, of Reader, WV passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 while at Sistersville Center.
Barbara was born October 18, 1945 in New Martinsville, WV daughter of the late Boyd Lee and Garnet Ruth (Curtis) Higgins.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, bowling and roller skating.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernadine Cumberledge and Yvonne Hyde.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-eight years, Donel Barker; two daughters, Melissa Jean (Rob) Carter of Folsom, WV and Theresa Ann (Thomas) Jones of Hundred, WV; sister, Sylvia (Larry) Highley of New Martinsville, WV; four grandchildren, Ashley Beth (Zachary) White, Justin Carter, Alisha (Barry) Sells and Peyton (Annie) Jones; two great grandchildren, Braxton and Lillianna; canine companion, Buddy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Barbara’s request graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Milburn Cemetery near Reader, WV.
