Obituary for Charles Leslie "Bub" Carnes
Charles “Bub” Leslie Carnes, 74, of Pine Grove, WV formerly of Smithfield, WV died Wednesday, March 30, 2022 while at Wheeling Hospital.
Bub was born May 19, 1947 in Haywood, WV son of the late Charles Lester and Mary (Stout) Carnes.
He was a retired truck driver for State Distributing, enjoyed trips to the Court Restaurant, watching television, family gatherings, hunting and fishing and attended First Baptist Church of Pine Grove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Helen Carnes; brother, David Carnes; sister, Shirley Riffle.
Surviving are his three daughters, Leslie (Steve) Dulaney of Pine Grove, WV, Melissa (Harman) Brown of Reader, WV and Melinda (Brent) Vanderhoff of Pine Grove, WV; brother, Foster (Bambi) Carnes of Joetown, WV; three sisters, Ann (Sam) Perry of Haywood, WV, Karen Shaver of Harrisville, WV and Betty Quinn of Masa, AZ; six grandchildren, Samantha (Casey) Pingley, Haley (Alex Anderson) Vanderhoff, Megan (Drew White) Vanderhoff, Olivia Brown, Ben Brown and Brooklyn Dulaney; one and two halves great grandchildren, Madisyn, Evelynn (due in April) and Mason (due in May) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-8 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, where services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 with Jerry Kuhens officiating. Burial to follow in the Pricetown Cemetery in Pricetown, WV.
