Obituary for Howard Blaine Rice
Howard Blaine Rice, 83, of Piney, WV died at his home Tuesday, March 23, 2021 with his wife by his side.
Blaine was born July 21, 1937 in Big Run, Wetzel County, WV; son of the late Thomas Urcie and Edna Mae (Dunlap) Rice.
He was a retired brick mason for the former Ormet Corp with over forty-two years of service, a U.S. Navy Veteran, enjoyed stonework, avid high school and college football fan, loved his Steelers, obsessed with automobiles, had a few antique cars in his lifetime and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pine Grove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Rice and sister Earlene Leasure.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, R. June (Brown) Rice; son, Erik (Tammy) Rice of MacClenny, FL; two daughters, Tara (Bryan) Ueltschy of Pine Grove, WV and Tena (Cathy Eastham) Rice of Middlebourne, WV; brother, Jerry (Jean) Rice of Douglasville, GA; seven grandchildren, Megan (Andrew) Ross, Zachery (Magen) Ueltschy, Cassie Ueltschy, Ezra (Larissa) Rice, Abigayle Rice, Joralda Rice and Romana Rice; seven great grandchildren, Jayden, Gianna, Mischa, Kylie, Rylee, Ophelia and Betti and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received noon-5 p.m., Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove where funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2021 with Rosemary Bucher and Erik Rice co-officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the Headley Cemetery.
