Obituary for Mona Day Brown (Dunham)
Mona Day Brown, 85 of New Martinsville, WV formerly of Reader, WV left this world to join her Father in Heaven on January 18, 2021 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 2, 1935 in Pine Grove, WV, Mona Day was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed by many, even as we celebrate her eternal joy.
Retired in 1996 after twenty-six years of service as a bus operator for Wetzel County Schools.
Preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Mae Wise Dunham; father, Clark Dunham; her husband, Samuel E. Brown; her sister, Jean Postlethwait and granddaughter, Kayla Lipscomb.
Survived by her children, Gregg (Cheri) Brown of Jacksonburg, Pamela (David) Lipscomb of New Martinsville, WV, Mark (Shelly) Brown of Hundred, WV and Bryan (Tracey) Brown of Jacksonburg, WV; her grandchildren, Robert (Heidi) Brown, Kasee (David) Porter and Michael (Jenny) Brown; her great grandchildren, Shannon Brown, George Brown, Samuel Porter, Whitney Brown, Samuel Brown and Jeremy Porter; her sisters, Maxine Wise, Loretta (Lawrence) Loy, Kay (David) Austin; brother, Donald (Marilyn) Dunham and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She enjoyed keeping up with all of her grand and great grandchildren’s activities and daily lives as they kept “Granny B” entertained and smiling. She was a dedicated Mountaineer Fan and never missed a chance to “watch the ball game.”
Friends received 4-7 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove where funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021 with Pastor Ron Accord officiating. With burial to follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery near Hastings, WV.
