Obituary for George "Bill" William Anderson
George “Bill” Anderson, 90, of Folsom, WV died at his home on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
Bill was born February 6, 1930 in Reader, WV; son of the late George D. and Goldie Pearl (Brock) Anderson.
He was a retired coal miner with twenty-five years of service, a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. A member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Folsom, WV. He enjoyed farming and gardening, but loved his children and grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Anderson; daughter, Karen Bates; son, John Anderson; five brothers, Bobby, Kenny, John, Dudley and David “Dale” Anderson; four sisters, Fannie, Dorothy, Imogene and Sarah; three grandsons, Michael, Aaron and Jonathan Eddy and great grandson, Ezekiel Pratt.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Eddy and Angie (Mike) Coen both of Folsom, WV; nine grandchildren, Karina (Tom) Carlin, Chris (Teena) Bates, Rocky (Theresa) Bates, Bridget (Tony) Rine, Betsy (Chad) Stackpole, Becky Coen, Kathy (Junior) Murphy, Sylvia Eddy and Albert Eddy; twenty-six great grandchildren, Cody, Kolin, Savanna, Braylee, Nevaeh, Trevor, , Kolbin, Cayden, Sawyer, Remington, Emarie, Sasha, Jamie, Kayla, Cole, Celleste, Brandon, Tiffany, Jerry, Samantha, Aaron, Samora, Tori, Abraham, Adalyn and Lily; three sisters, Ilene Raber of New Martinsville, WV, Irene Duke of Hannibal, OH and Geraldine Haught of Reader, WV; two brothers, Pete Anderson of Iron Dale, OH and Burl Anderson of Wellsville, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Anderson family understands several friends and relatives would wish to pay their respects and are sorry that the current situation limits visitation to immediate family only. They encourage you to join them 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Milburn Cemetery for funeral and graveside service to be conducted by Pastor Gary Dennison.
