Obituary for Ronald Dewane Conley

Ronald Dewane Conley, 76 of Porters Falls, WV was born to the Church Triumphant on August 8, 2019.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Harry Conley and his mother Delores (Shreve-Conley) Koppes. Ron was married to the former Jeannie Morgan; they were married a few days short of 56 years. Ron had one brother; Donald Conley and his wife Shirley are of Navarre, OH. Ron and his wife Jeannie have three children; Cathy and Mark Richards of Cape Coral, FL, Christy and Knute Headley of Disputanta, VA, and Sonny and Jane Conley of New Martinsville, WV. Ron was the proud Grandfather of Michael and Katie Headley of Raeford, NC, Felicia Headley of Highland Springs, VA, Zachery Richards of Clarksville, Tennessee, Elizabeth Conley of New Martinsville, WV, and William Headley of Disputanta, VA.

Ron was a lifetime Teamster and commercial long haul truck driver (known on the radio as “Bed Bug”). In addition, Ron worked as a Supervisor at Litman Excavating and was a partner in Conley Enterprises. Ron was a devout family man with a love for stock car racing and deep sea fishing. Ron was most at home surrounded by family and friends, notably Gary and Joyce Cain at the Tyler County Speedway. Ron raced a car for many years and later he built and crew chief the 1x1 car that his son Sonny raced and won numerous championships at Tyler County Speedway.

While stock car racing was Ron’s greatest passion, deep sea fishing was his second love. In later years, Ron was content to race off shore in his beloved fishing boat (My Toy) to chase a big catch. Ron was a son, a brother, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather.

His family will cherish his memory, and look forward to reuniting with him one day.

Friends received 2-7 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, where services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019 with David Benson officiating. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville.
