Obituary for William "Bill" Clair Kocher
William “Bill” Clair Kocher, 95, of Reader, WV peacefully passed at his home on Monday, July 15, 2019.
Bill was born January 25, 1924 in Porters Falls, WV; son of the late John and Leota (Straight) Kocher.
He was retired from Columbia Gas, a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII, owner of B&B TV and Cable Shop, member of the Reader Lions Club, served for many years as an Elder and member of the Reader Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanchie (Crane) Kocher; three brothers, Paul Kocher, John Kocher and Arthur Kocher.
Surviving are daughter, Diane (Bud) Mason of Reader, WV; four sons, Gary (Lisa) Kocher, Perry (Zivia) Kocher, Karl (Trudy) Kocher, and Victor (Chris) Kocher all of Columbia, SC; brother, Benjamin (Ruth) Kocher of Reader, WV; sister, Betty Long of Reader, WV; six grandchildren, Tamatha (Mike) Melott of Reader, WV, Heather (Brent) Irvin of Williamstown, WV, Austin (Molly) Kocher of Columbia, SC, Alexis (John) Reynolds of Columbia, SC, Maddi Kocher of Charleston, SC and Karson Kocher of Columbia, SC; five great grandchildren, Makayla Melott, McKenzie Mellott, Camryn Irvin, Alex Irvin and Johnny Reynolds and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, WV where services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Burial in Milburn Cemetery near Reader, WV.
