Obituary for Elizabeth A. "Betty" Starkey (Anderson)
Elizabeth “Betty” A. Starkey, 82, of Jacksonburg, WV died Saturday, April 27, 2019 at her home while surrounded by her family.
Betty was born December 5, 1936 in Smithfield, WV; daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Copenhafer) Anderson.
She was a homemaker, graduate of Smithfield High School, loved working in her flower beds, sewing, making crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Jacksonburg Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Don Anderson, Franklin “Jack” Anderson and, William “Billy” Anderson and two sisters, Carolyn Martin and Paula Rose Anderson.
Surviving are her husband of sixty years, Lorn Starkey; three sons, Larry (Eva) Starkey of New Martinsville, WV, Tim Starkey of Jacksonburg, WV and David (Tammy) Starkey of Calhoun, GA; one daughter, Connie (Robert) Haught of Weirton, WV; four brothers, Bob Anderson of New Martinsville, WV, Joe (Carolyn) Anderson of Chatsworth, GA, Jim (Helen) Anderson of Burgettstown, PA and John (Patty) Anderson of Weirton, WV; two sisters, Neva Brewer and Gerri Carson both of Mannington, WV; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 3-7 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Jacksonburg Church of Christ in Jacksonburg. Burial to follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery near Hastings, WV.
