Obituary for Elias "Jr" Leasure
Elias Leasure, Jr., 87, originally from Big Run, WV, later residing in Paden City, WV, passed peacefully on January 1, 2019 at Wetzel County Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born on May 16, 1931 in Smithfield, WV. Jr. was the son of the late Theodore Elias and Letha Jane (Cain) Leasure. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Earlene, of 57 years.
He served his country in the Air Force and told countless stories of his many experiences and travels. He retired from Ormet as a brick mason after 35 years and held many memories of co-workers and friends.
He was an honest, hard-working, faithful man who treasured his wife and children. He enjoyed collecting knives, furniture restoration, carpentry, and wine making. He was a well versed man with many lessons.
He left behind his proudest accomplishment which was his children; Tom (Sheri) Leasure of New Martinsville, Jane (Mike Ashburn) Carlin of Fairmont, David (Lisa) Leasure of Clayton, NC, and Jean (Scott) Cooper of Paden City. His ten grandchildren are Adam (Dana), Stuart (Valerie), Clinton (Hannah), Hayley, Ean, Sara (Jacob), Ben, Chad, Gabi, and Luke. Jr. was blessed with eleven great grandchildren. He has one surviving brother, Richard (Tinker) Leasure of Sheffield, PA.
Services will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Pine Grove, WV. Viewing will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 with the funeral Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mannington Memorial Park following funeral.
