Obituary for Georgia Ann Smith (Wetzel)
Georgia Ann Smith, 90, of Pine Grove, WV died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her home.
Georgia was born April 25, 1928 in Jacksonburg, WV; daughter of the late Jess and Lillie (Utt) Wetzel.
She was retired school bus driver for Wetzel County Schools, Wetzel County’s first woman bus driver hired in 1952, well known for her favorite color – red, an avid quilter, known from one end of the Shortline to the other for her homemade pies, cakes and cookies and a member of the Pine Grove Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Haught and Sally Coen and brother, Robert Wetzel.
Surviving are two children, Lil (Dave) Bell of Shadyside, OH and Donnie (Cshawn) Smith of Reader, WV; sister, Velma Bates; three grandchildren, Taylor (Drew) Presto, Devon (Demetric) Bell and Trey Smith; three great grandchildren, Paisley, Nihima and Isiah and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Williams Funeral Home in Pine Grove, WV, where services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 with Josh Bates officiating. Burial to follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV.
