Willard Lee Minges, 94, of Sarasota, FL formerly of Pine Grove, WV died Saturday, December 8, 2018 while at Bay Village of Sarasota.
Lee was born February 11, 1924 in Moundsville, WV; son of the late James William and Minnie Gay (Wiley) Menges.
He was a retired supervisor for BASF Wyandotte Corp, a WWII US Navy veteran and member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a three year-old son, Miles James Minges; brothers, Dale and Hugh Minges; half-brothers, Glenn and Thomas Minges and half-sister, Eva Streets; step siblings, Jaunita Coen, Bill Carson, Madge Hudson, Gaynelle Tennant, Isabelle Holt and Velma Stinson.
Surviving are his wife, Willa Joyce (Ryan) Minges; four children, Dawn (Daniel) Watkins of Woodsfield, OH, Mark (Julie) Minges of Dallas, TX, Belinda Guerra of Manvel, TX and Rebecca Thrall of South Lyon, MI; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2019 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, WV.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made, in Lee’s name, to Pine Grove Church of Christ, PO Box 288, Pine Grove, WV 26419 or or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
