Obituary for Toy Lee Tennant

Toy Lee Tennant, 87, of Reader, WV passed away on August 30, 2018 while at Rada’s Place.

Toy was born August 7, 1931 in Piney, WV; son of the late Carrie “Ted” and Mae (Fluharty) Tennant.

He was a retired pipe liner and heavy equipment operator with PACE Pipeline. His hobbies included raising cattle, hunting and going to Canaan Valley. He was a member of the American Legion and a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Coy Warren and Troy Victor and sister, Joy Eileen.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-four years, T. Jean (Ice) Tennant; son, Gary (Kim) Tennant of Pine Grove, WV; four daughters, Sandy (Joe) Herrick of Hannibal, OH, Sherry (Dale) Dulaney of Big Run, WV, Linda (John) Knowlton of Marietta, OH and Jennifer (Bill) Minger of Middlebourne, WV. He was Pap paw to ten brats; Nicole Dulaney of Big Run, WV, Adam (Kristin) Herrick of New Martinsville, WV, Amie (Jamie) Meadows of Hurricane, WV, Emilee (Theo) Andrianos of Pittsburgh, PA, Corey (Bethany) Dulaney of Wileyville, WV, Casey (Caitlin Lee) Knowlton of Colorado Springs, CO, Kayla (Jonas) McEldowney of New Martinsville, WV, Amber Tennant of St. Albans, WV, Zack(Lindsay) Minger of St. Marys, WV and Wesley Dulaney of New Martinsville, WV. From those brats, he was blessed with twelve and a half great-grandchildren, Caleb, Owen, Jackson, Kaden, Khlohee, Koleson, Isabella, Swisher, Charlotte, Lillianna, Eliana, Harrison and a great-granddaughter due in January; two sisters, Cloy (Danny) Winland and Floy (Don) Morris both of New Martinsville, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-8 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove, WV, where service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2018 with Pastor Stephen Rector officiating. Burial to follow in Milburn Cemetery near Reader, WV.

Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Rada and her girls for the special care they provided to Toy.
