The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mildred Brown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Sidney Spurlock

The first time I met Mildred Brown (Mam), was July 4, 2009. My wife (Mackenzie Spurlock, great granddaughter) and I were on our first date. After town fireworks, we went to the Mackenzie’s home. While Mackenzie was setting off fireworks, I was sitting near Mam who began to show me such great hospitality. She began to talk to me, get to know me, and made me feel right at home. This and many other memories my wife and I remember, from playing games with Mam to our wedding day. When I think about Mam, I am most impressed by her faithfulness. She has passed her faith to her daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter. Without Mam passing on her faith to Mackenzie, I would not be where I am today. For this I am very grateful. I am convinced that Mam’s faithfulness has and will help many people to be heavenward bound. Mam thank you for all that you did while here on this earth. I love you and will miss you!
