Obituary for Mikel Chester "Mike" Trader

Mikel “Mike” C. Trader, 72, of Folsom, WV died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home while surrounded by his family.

“Mike” was born July 15, 1943 in Folsom, WV son of the late Wilford H. and Nettie E. (Hayhurst) Trader.

He was a retired coal miner for Consolidation Coal Company with 32 years of service, member of United Mine Workers of America Local #1638, N.R.A., loved to hunt, truly enjoyed farming and working with the various animals, was willing to help everyone, loved Christmas and the things that made it sparkle and member of the former Lighthouse Church of God in Smithfield, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Helen Johnson, two brothers, Jack Trader and Glen “Chub” Donald Trader and a half brother, Lewis “Buddy” Edgell.

Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Flora (Hayes) Trader; son Glen (Tina) Trader of Folsom, WV; daughter, Cathy (Greg) Griffith of New Martinsville, WV; two sisters, Nellie (Jack) Johnson and Phyllis Johnson both of Fairview, WV; two granddaughters, Brittany (Bill) McAtee and Amanda Trader; six great grandchildren, Mikela, Gracie, Wyatt, Gunner, Aubree and Millee and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Hwy, Pine Grove where service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 with nephew, Larry Johnson officiating.

Interment to follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV.
