Obituary for Franklin Dale Carter

Franklin Dale  Carter
Franklin Dale Carter, 78, of Folsom, WV died Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home while surrounded by his family.

Dale was born August 13, 1939 in Holbrook, PA; son of the late Franklin and Nellie (Riggs) Carter.

He was a retired meter technician for Carnegie Natural Gas and retired bus operator for Wetzel County Schools, volunteered as a driver for Shortline Ambulance, volunteer fire fighter and past chief for Folsom Volunteer Fire Dept., loved his neighbors and grandchildren and enjoyed mowing grass and working on small gasoline engines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Carter.

Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Janet (Tustin) Carter; son Rob (Missy) Carter of Folsom, WV; daughter Sharon (Michael) Flanagan of Elkridge, MD; sister, Donnis (Melvin) Strope of Waynesburg, PA; four grandchildren, Kelly (Robert) Bird, Kevin (Shelby) Flanagan, Justin (Gabi) Carter and Alisha (Barry Sells) Carter; one great granddaughter, Logan Elise Bird and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Williams Funeral Home in Pine Grove, where service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

Interment to follow in Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Dale’s name, to the Folsom Fire Dept.
