Edward “Eddie” Mack Bates, 33, of Jacksonburg, WV passed away suddenly Thursday, March 2, 2017 at home of natural causes.

Eddie was born November 18, 1983 in New Martinsville, WV, son of Jeffrey Bates and the late Crystal (Snodgrass) Thacker.

He was a huge WVU fan, loved trout fishing, graduate of Valley High School Class of 2002, past employee of the Williams Funeral Home and attends the Words of Life Church in Pine Grove.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mack Bates.

Surviving in addition to his father are his son, Davyd Bates; brother, Josh Bates; two nieces, Rachel and Charity Bates; grandmothers, Velma Bates and Dorothy (Gary) Ebert and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends received 4-7 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Williams Funeral Home in Pine Grove.

Interment in Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV at the convenience of the family.
