Obituary for Virginia May Vandruff

Vandruff, Virginia May, 85, of New Martinsville, WV formerly of the Shortline Community died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Genesis New Martinsville.

Virginia was born May 17, 1929 in McElroy, Tyler County, WV daughter of the late Arthur J. and Hattie (Mace) Walters.

She was a homemaker, gained some notoriety by singing Happy Birthday on the daily radio WETZ program of Swap and Shop and she was a Methodist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Vandruff (1999); sister, Evva June Herber and brother, Arthur Paul Walters.

Surviving are son, Larry; daughter, Barbara and sister, Eva Jean (Roy) Giles of Norwalk, OH.

Visitation 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Williams Funeral Home, 12750 Shortline Highway, Pine Grove. Graveside service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Big Run Cemetery near Big Run, Wetzel County, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's name to Wetzel County Hospital Fund, Community Foundation Ohio Valley, 1310 Market Street Suite 1, Wheeling, WV 26003.
