Obituary for James J. ""Jim"" Shreve

James J. ""Jim""  Shreve
Shreve, James "Jim" J., 80, of New Martinsville, WV formerly of Reader, WV died Monday, April 14, 2014 at Liza's Place in Wheeling.

"Jim" was born November 4, 1933 in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Jefferson and Sarah Swiger Shreve.

He was a retired foreman from Bernard's Pipeline and guard with the Moundsville Penitentiary, a US Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict, he loved being a farmer and farming and member of the First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Swiger Shreve, eight brothers and eight sisters.

Surviving are his wife of twenty nine years, Anna King Shreve; four sons, James Terry (Martha) Shreve, Kim (Bernice) Shreve, Garry Lee (Cindi) Shreve and Kennie (Missy) Shreve all of Ashland, OH; two daughters, Barbara Sue (Joe) Paskowski of Madison, OH and Virginia Shreve of New Martinsville; forty-seven foster children and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Williams Funeral Home, 226 N SR 20, Pine Grove, WV where service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 with Pastor Jerry Kuhens officiating.

Interment to follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Hastings, WV.

The Honor Guard will conduct military graveside service.
