Obituary for Ivy G. Freed

Freed, Ivy G., 65, of Big Run, Pine Grove, WV died Friday, December 18, 2009 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Ivy was born April 28, 1944 in North Sewickley, PA, daughter of the late Roscoe C. and Grace Mabel Richael Freed.

She was a homemaker, wonderful mother, employee of Barb’s Café, an Animal League Supporter and member of Lowman Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Harley Freed and the father of her two children, Frank Jefferson Burckure.

Surviving are her sons, Billy Burckure and Shawn Burckure both of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Louis Freed and his wife, Carol of Pine Grove, WV and “Junior” Roscoe Freed and his wife, Dawn of Waverly, TN; six sisters, Carol McLaughlin and her husband, Elmer of Aliquippa, PA, Faye Madison of Beaver Falls, PA, Millie Wilson and her husband, Howard of Beavers Falls, PA, Pam Baldwin and her husband, George of Columbus, OH, Ruth Watkins of New Castle, PA and Beverly Dallies and her husband, Ron of Aliquippa, PA and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends received 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Williams Funeral Home, 226 N SR 20, Pine Grove, WV with Pastor Wayne Cooper.

Interment Kingtown Cemetery near Pine Grove, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Ivy’s name, to Wetzel County Animal Shelter, RR 2 Box 57, New Martinsville, WV 26155.

Visitation Tuesday 11 a.m. until time of funeral service 1 p.m.
