Obituary for Helen L. Carnes

Carnes, Helen L. “Sissy”, 63, of Smithfield, WV died Monday, May 16, 2011 at Wetzel County Hospital.

Helen was born July 17, 1947 in Smithfield, WV daughter of the late Birchie and Mary Hibbs Higgins.

She was an employee of Wetzel County Hospital; loved visiting with people, making blankets and yard sales and was a member of First Baptist Church in Pine Grove.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Higgins.

Surviving are her husband of forty-four years, Charles “Bub” Carnes; three daughters, Leslie (Steve) Dulaney of Pine Grove, WV, Melinda (Brent) Vanderhoff of Smithfield, WV and Melissa (Harman) Brown of Reader, WV; two brothers, Everett Higgins of Smithfield, WV and Harry (Jessie) Higgins of Rachel, WV; two sisters, Donnah (Jeff) Rice of Pine Grove, WV and Wanda (Glenn) Jones of Farmington, WV; six grandchildren, Samantha Dulaney, Brooklyn Dulaney, Haley Vanderhoff, Megan Vanderhoff, Olivia Brown and Ben Brown.

Friends received 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Williams Funeral Home, 226 N SR 20, Pine Grove, WV where services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 with Pastor Richard Chapple and Leary VanHorn co-officiating.

Interment in Pricetown Cemetery in Pricetown, WV.
