Obituary for Rosamond E. Wilson

Wilson, Rosamond E., 85, of Pine Grove, WV died Sunday, December 11, 2011 while worshipping her Lord at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pine Grove.

Rosamond was born April 10, 1926 in Conaway, WV daughter of the late Chester Earl and Nancy Elizabeth Conley McHenry.

She was a retired clerk from Martin’s True Value in Pine Grove and prior to that she worked for Dale Allread at his Business Service and Insurance Company, a 1943 Tyler County High School graduate, member of Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband, Jack, visited all fifty states and all the Canadian Provinces save the Northwest Territory. Rosamond also toured the British Isles. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer and Sunday School Teacher for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Leland McHenry, Donald McHenry, Helen Cunningham, Jessee Wilcox and Edwin McHenry.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-seven years, Jack Wilson; son, Steve Wilson; brother, David McHenry all of Pine Grove, WV; special children, in Rosamond and Jack’s life, Ben Hanlan, Kalin Hanlan and Brandon Hanlan and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Many of her friends and nieces regarded Rosamond as a role, spiritual guide and a practical advisor on the most difficult subject of all, life.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Williams Funeral Home, 226 N SR 20, Pine Grove, WV. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pine Grove with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating.
