Obituary for Robert Wayne Watson

Watson, Sr., Robert W., 85, of Smithfield, WV died Friday, September 7, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born September 6, 1927 in Wilsonburg, WV son of the late Harley and Goldie Lamp Watson.

He was a retired machinist, U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, guitarist, loved fishing and animals and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Mabel Blanche Deem and Leanora McFarland Watson; sons, Edward Dakota Watson and Robert “Bobby” W. Watson, Jr.; daughter, Nina Lee Tallent and sister, Juanita Shingleton.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (Harry) Baker of Ohio and Linda (Dusty) Watson-Derby of Smithfield, WV; grandchildren, Danielle Baker, David Baker, Matthew Golden, Angel Golden, Bernard Golden, Robert W. Watson and Krystal Silver and several great grandchildren.

Friends received Noon – 3 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Williams Funeral Home, 226 N SR 20, Pine Grove, WV where service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday.

Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Honor Guard.

Interment in Garrett Cemetery on Sandy Knob near Reader, WV.
