Sandra L. "Sandy"  McVicker
McVicker, Sandra “Sandy” L, 72, of New Martinsville, WV went to be with her Lord Saturday, June 15, 2013 while surrounded by her family.

“Sandy” was born January 16, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant, PA daughter of the late William Hart Newhouse and the late Mary Elizabeth Ryan Simons.

She was the retired secretary of Riverside Services MJD, Inc. for twenty-five years, a notary for thirty years, volunteer dispatcher for twenty years with New Martinsville Ambulance Service, a past band patron member, corporate secretary for the Williams Funeral Home for nine years and a member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Carl Simons; her first husband, David Dale Benson (1965) and granddaughter, Sunshine Hart McVicker.

Surviving are her husband, “Mike” McVicker; son, David (Jamie) Benson and daughter, Tonya McVicker both of New Martinsville, WV; grandchildren, Shae (Jarrod) Shaw, Cameron Benson, Hannah Benson and Kobe McVicker; step-mother, Yvonne Newhouse, brother, William (Janice) Newhouse of Silver Lake, OH; two sisters, Judy Johnson of New Stanton, PA and Leah (Rich) Copeman of Irwin, PA and what Sandy referred to as a “ton” of nieces and nephews.

Friends received 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 with Pastor Melissa Shortridge officiating.

Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.
